At the start of the Great Depression the government did not do much to stop the Depression and Hoover had just “watch[ed] it happen” and wide spread hysteria continued through the United States. The bank runs happen from east to west coast with many thinking that Hoover just sat back and “let it happen” with many from this started “breaking every habit” to save money and have their famill’s be less impoverished and not being able to buy the things that they could have before like cars and other appliances which they couldn’t now because they had n money and anyone who could feasibly afford them already had them.
